Brownie Girl Scout Troop 914 is a group of 15 second-grade girls. Most of the girls are in their third year of scouting. The girls recently met a soldier who spent time in Iraq and gained an appreciation for the work that our servicemen and women do overseas. We sent notes and care packages overseas to an active Air Force Base in Iraq. The soldiers honored the girls by flying an American flag on their plane and then sending the flag to our troop.

Earlier in the season, the girls earned their “Girl Scout Ways” try-it for making sit-upons, s’mores and learning some traditional Brownie songs.

They also trekked the Celery Farm in Allendale, made bird feeders, and learned about animal habitats to earn their “Eco-Explorer” try-it.

We look forward to more fun and educational projects this Spring.
