Testing

Important Information: NJSLA Testing Updates

The New Jersey Student Learning Assessments (NJSLA) are the statewide tests that measure how well students are meeting grade-level standards. Beginning this year, students in grades 3–5 will take the updated adaptive version of the NJSLA in English Language Arts and Mathematics. Adaptive testing means the questions adjust in difficulty based on a student’s responses, providing a more accurate picture of individual learning needs and progress.

In addition, during the fall testing window, students in grades 4 and 5 will also participate in a pilot version of this new assessment. The purpose of this pilot is to help the state continue improving the test design while giving schools early experience with the updated format.

We encourage families to support their children by ensuring they arrive on time, well-rested, and ready to do their best. As always, accommodations will be provided for students who require them.

If you have any questions about the NJSLA or the new testing protocols, please contact the school office 201-327-0727. We are here to help!
