Program Important Information and Offerings

Before Care offers two flexible options: a Punch Card or a set schedule of 2–5 days per week. 

After Care allows families to choose the tier that best meets their needs, with pickup available between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m., and is also offered 2–5 days per week. Discounts and additional details are available on the payment page. Days must be pre-selected. 


YWCA Before & After Care – Frequently Asked Questions

We know that choosing the right before- and after-care program is an important decision for your family. To support you, we’ve compiled answers to our most commonly asked questions. We hope this helps you determine if the YWCA program is the right fit for your child.


Is there a cut-off date for registration?

No. Registration is accepted throughout the entire school year. Families may sign up whenever they are ready.


Does the program only apply to Kindergarten and above?

Our program serves children ages 5–12.
Kindergarteners must be 5 years old to attend, per the YWCA licensing agreement.


Do I have to commit for the whole year? My child’s schedule changes by semester.

The program runs on a monthly basis.
Families may add, remove, or adjust months as needed.
Changes must be submitted before the billing date (one month in advance) by emailing sapregistration@ywcannj.org.


If I sign up for two days a week, can I change which days they are?

Yes.
Schedules must remain set for each month, but you may change the selected days with a 30-day notice.


If I sign up for aftercare until 5:00 PM, can I pick up earlier?

Absolutely.
Parents may pick up anytime before the scheduled pickup window.


Is a trial period available?

Yes.
Families may register for one month to see if the program is a good fit. After that month, you may choose to continue or discontinue.


Can we sign up month-to-month instead of committing for the year?

Yes.
Families may enroll one month at a time. To ensure accurate billing, please email Jessi, our billing specialist, by the 10th of the month prior.
If you already know which specific months you’d like, you may note that on the application (for example, “February and March only”).


Is there an aftercare punch card option like the $200 before-care punch card?

Unfortunately, no.
Because of staffing ratios and safety requirements, aftercare must have consistent schedules so YWCA can ensure proper supervision levels.
